When time and taste are of the essence, overnight oars are awaiting. These little jars of goodness allow you to experience what we like to call pure oat joy. Be prepared to swoon over these dreamy, pudding-like breakfasts, that are going to supercharge your summer mornings.ÌýÌý
Overnight oars are essentially a no-cook method of making porridge. So instead of making them with hot water, you soak the raw oats in milk, or with a plant-based alternative! Leaving the oats to soak overnight allows them to soften enough to be eaten uncooked.Ìý
Not only do overnight oats taste delicious, but they are also pretty good for you too! Let’s see why foodies across the nation are falling head over heels for them…Ìý
Raw oats are one of the best sources of resistant starch. This gut-friendly starch passes through your small intestine undigested until it reaches the colon. Here, the resistant starch acts as a food source for the good bacteria which can be found in your gut - helping to maintain the good to bad gut bacteria.Ìý
You know when you relax in a hot bubble bath and you can feel the negative energy seeping from your pores? Well, that’s kind of what happens with overnight oats…hold with us on this one! Soaking the raw oats in your choice of milk or plant-based alternative means that the nutrients are absorbed into the liquid overnight, making sure you get all the goodness possible!Ìý
Note pads at the ready; we’ve got a few top tips to share with you to make sure you perfect the art of overnight oats (yes, it is an art in its own right!).Ìý
Good quality oatsÌýThis one is the easiest step of them all, as luckily all our flavours are made with delicious, high quality, all-natural ingredients. Using good quality oats will ensure that not only does your breakfast taste, great, but it also has the perfect creamy consistency we all dream of!Ìý
Go for an airtight containerÌýOpt for a glass, airtight container - this will ensure that your oats' temperature is well maintained. It’s also slightly safer as opposed to plastic one - we can’t be having any OATrageous leaky porridge disasters, after all!Ìý
It’s all in the detailsÌýLuckily, our porridge mixes taste great as they are - however, if you’re looking for a little extra magic, the time to go wild is with the toppings. At this time of year, we’re a sucker for fresh berries and a drizzle of honey to bring the whole dish together.ÌýÌý
